If you follow our recommended timetable, by the end of this week you will have 5 hours remaining in which to complete your Analytical Assignment.
Out of Hours Learning
In preparation for your next Analytical Assignment session you should think about...
- Identify the next point you wish to make about the representation of alien visitors or women in the sci-fi films we've selected.
- Identify the film & scene that you will use as evidence to illustrate your point.
- Identify the technical codes within the scene that prove your point (using technical language - use the Analysis Tool handout and the Film Terminology Revision page in the sidebar).
- Consider the impact on the target audience.
- Compare to another scene in one of the other films. How is it similar or different?
If you do this, you won't waste controlled hours thinking about what to write, only about how to express it in an essay.
ALSO, UPDATE THE LESSON EVALUATION DOCUMENT. HOW WELL DID YOU USE THE CONTROLLED HOURS TODAY? ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THE PROGRESS YOU MADE IN THESE LESSONS? IS YOUR PORTFOLIO 'ON TRACK'?
